Day 4 and the struggles

When I woke-up this morning I really didn't want to go to the gym. I felt tired, worn out and my attitude about it was really negative. I have found that in these moments a prayer and just doing what you don't want to can make a BIG difference. My wkout yesterday took it's toll on me mentally, especially when I came home and told Clint what I did and he did some of the hardest ones for me like it nothing. It was so discouraging and disheartening. I know I can't compare myself to him, but I still felt that way. Then there was the conversation with Kaily that went something like this:

Kaily: Mom, I can tell if people have kids, wana know how?

Me: How?

Kaily: All the mom's have BIG tummies, like yours.

Nothing like having your daughter point out the obvious to you. So did I go? Yes, I went. After that comment do you think I would just sit around here letting my tummy get BIGGER, I mean really, when it's pointed out so kindly how can you ignore it?

I ran 2.25 miles and then did 20 min of crunches. After that I did some machines and then 30 min on the bike that equaled 6 miles. How do I feel? AMAZING!!! So much better than I did this morning.

Day 3

WOW!!! Today was a killer. We did so many things, I can't even describe to you all of them. All I know is right at the last set she asked if I had been alone doing this would I want to quit and go home. I said with out any hesitation, "I'm done, I've done enough, but that's why you're here to get me to go further than I would make myself go." She laughed and said, "let's finish this." To be honest, when it was all done I laid there laughing, listening to my heart beat as if it was coming out of my chest and I wanted to cry. I think every muscle in my body was worked today and I felt so fatigued. Now that it's two hrs later I feel better, not so tired, but I WILL be sore in the morning. I really haven't felt like this since I ran the half marathon in Jan. At least this time there are no blisters. (= This pic is a good representation of how I felt.

Day 2

Here I am, awake at 6:00 am and I can't go to the gym yet b/c I have to eat and get dressed and be back here at 7:30 to take Clint to school. It's not enough time to get in an hr of Cardio. I think Monday and Wednesdays are going to be a challenge to get out the door early. I will have to go while Kaily is in school.

Taking an assessment of how I feel this morning is...SORE. I felt it somewhat yesterday, but after sleeping the rest of my body has caught up with me and I really need to stretch out.

Goals for today; more water drinking or just continue what I did yesterday, and make a food journal. Food journaling is essential to any weight loss program and can really be beneficial to anyone. Why haven't I done it? The honest truth is that I don't want to see what I eat, I don't want to be accountable to it, which is why I HAVE to do it.

Just got home from the gym, ran 4 miles and burned roughly 546 calories. It feels so good to be doing this. It makes me kick myself mentally for ever giving it up. Later I will do some Pilate's for my abs and then an early night for bed.

Day 1

Well, it's actually day 4, I don't count Sundays. So today I met with my new Trainer and she's a little skinny blond bubbly girl. I really like her, she reminds me of someone, I just can't put my finger on it yet. So today, she measured and weighed me and we went over some goals I have. So far I'm doing great on my water goal not so great on the other, but I will get there.

The wkout consisted of squats with the exercise ball, bench press with ex ball, Rowing machine and upward rowing, then onto crunches with ex ball. Everything kicked my butt except for the crunches. I guess I'm not in such bad shape there as I thought. Maybe I just need to tone and loose the preg fat off of there and I'll be fine.

How do I feel? Great! I'm a little tired and that's normal. I have been getting better sleep lately and more of it. I go to bed shortly after putting the kids to bed and I wake up earlier with more energy. She told me to just do weights on Tues, Thurs and Sat and one Mon, Wed, Fri do 45 min-1 hr of cardio making sure my heart rate stays in the target zone.

I will get my measurements from her and put them on here so you all can keep track with me.

OUCH, my butt hurts!

I joined a gym and I have a personal trainer. I started there on Thursday. I start with my new trainer on Tuesday and I'm looking forward to the info and the wkouts she is going to give me. I know it'll be a challenge, but I really feel like I need someone to push me to do the hard stuff. I'll do cardio on my own and then they help me with the weights part and the nutrition part. My immediate goal is to start eating healthy and loose at least 10 lbs. I'll let you know how that's going.
Today I went to SLC and did a boot camp with a friend of mine. It was TOUGH!! So between Thursday's wkout and today my butt really hurts, not to mention my shoulders and legs. It's not a bad hurt though; it's a feel good, that was a great wkout and my body thanks you hurt.

WOW it's been a while

The other day I got some disturbing news, I am on my way to type 2 diabetes. So what to do? Well I have looked up lots and lots of info on it and have found that I REALLY need to see a nutritionist. This morning I got up early and went walking, about 4 miles. It's been since May that I have actually wked out and while I haven't gained any weight I can feel the difference. We were hoping get preg this month, but now I think it would be better to wait for a bit so I can get this under control. I know it's long road, but I don't have the luxury of waiting to get healthy any more, it's do or die!
